Pieces of Me

Well basically my plan to Singapore was very sudden. So sudden that my friend told me that she had a ticket to let go, and it was on the day when SCANDAL will be performing, and it's at the front row (Row E) right at the middle facing the stage.

That thought alone told me that i should really grab this opportunity and witness SCANDAL in live at least for once. and not to be mention, this is definitely my first time watching them. And there goes a lot of last minute planning and finally i'm there.

A lot of shits happened during the time i reached. My phone went cold. Couldn't get it to startup nor reset. Went to Apple Store and fixed it and after that, realized i don't have Roaming activated. Went to a public phone and when i tried to call my friend for the location of our hostel, i don't know how to use their public phone. Heck, i've not been using one for as long as i can remember. Wasted bunch of time trying to figure out but lastly i gave up and proceed to M1 shop to buy a sim card. Realize they don't provide micro sim for prepaid numbers. OTL

Luckily that employee is kind enough to help me to grind that small piece of effing plastic into a suitable size to fit in my phone. And i'm back ONLINE! =)

First stop will be to meet up with my buddies and proceed to our hostels which was The Hive.

Is cheap, is decent, is hooked-up with WiFi, free breakfast, free computer to use. Man!! what else can we ask for? This is really gonna be the place to stay if y'all are looking for budget trip.

After unloading my baggage, which i find so damn heavy carrying around Singapore trying to solve all my previous misfortunes, time to head to Suntec City Convention Center. That's the place Anime Festival Asia, AFA X was held. I'm guessing the X is cuz this year is the 10 in 2010? I can roughly conclude the place as KLCC in Malaysia. Convention Center, with a shopping mall attached. Just that it's classier. waaayyy classier.

So, what is AFA? I seriously don't think it was all about Anime tho. Can put it in Japanese Pop Culture i will say. Well, if you don't like Japanese Pop Culture, Japan, Japanese, you basically hate the world and you are probably gay. I'm just saying.. you probably won't be enjoying all this.

All in all, you will see cars ~ nicely decal-ed cars..

asking you to refrain yourself from staring at cute girls, taking their pictures, asking them to take pictures with you, touching them touching yourself o.0 , having perverted thoughts, and the list goes on.

Apart from that you will of course.. see truck load of Toy Models. Ranging from different size, of course they will charge you accordingly at a very ridiculous price. =)

The highlight of the place should be the Moe Moe Kyun Maid Cafe. This is the part where I don't effing get it.. Why would they be people paying extra just to get served the same food which we can buy in nearby food court only by some cute waitress... I don't know..

But i'm certainly not going to be controlled by all these cute girls on how i'm suppose to eat. (yes, they will force you to do something ridiculous before you can eat.... inside...)

Well, the next pict was actually how crowded it was that day. This was only way before the concert started. And some of them are in line trying to redeem their tix bought online before.


Well, of course we were not here for today's concert yet.. Our concert was actually on Sunday. We are only here to check out how the route to come here and ..... check out some cute girls.
So, we went strolling around.. checking things out.. and come to my senses that.. Singapore is really a fine country. yea, FINE country.


LOL WTF?! 5k SGD. I really would have to sell myself to Geylang if i committed this crime.

And we found this 'INTERESTING' signboard outside of our hostel.

LOL WTF?! AGAIN!! out of the 12 NO's.. 10 were related to water. and i can't find any water nearby except drain water.

And this is really what made me OTL on the floor.

"Oh don't worry, your phone has run out of juice? we can recharge it at the socket in front (some distance)." /walks up close to the socket
"Come, let me help you just plug it in....."
"Wait.. WTF??!!" Singapore Government are over protective to their properties.

While Hairy Porker are showing now on cinema, i find this somehow rather familiar... Hogwarts perhaps?


Another weird stuffs, since you are so damn lazy about flushing.. you don't have to... anymore.

Sounds canggih, don't know how it works tho.

After that, we have nothing to do anymore, the shops were all closed, we don't wanna go back. So we decided to sit and chill at the rooftop of Vivo City. While chilling, i'm Lomo-ing~

No, it's not girls' leg.. i'm not attempting to do anything. Probably i randomly caught 2 hot ghosts.


That night, we decided to chill out at our hostel, eating self made Maggi, sitting at the living room, drinking hot tea.. Again, the living room, the tea or coffee, hot water, together with TV and Star Hub's channel (just like Astro) were all provided by the hostel at no extra charges. Nice right? Well, you gotta bring your own Maggi if you really want to eat. We bought ours at 7-11 at $2. Dirt cheap.. really.. hahaha


The next day early in the morning, surprisingly i'm the one that wake up first despite that we slept late, i wake up a few of them to accompany me to savor the free breakfast. It's free, it's not included in our rent, that's why i'm shy to go alone. LOL

After breakfast, we changed into the SCANDAL t-shirt!! and off we go to AFA again. XD

Is the concert today, so we decided to go watch the show before the concert at 7pm. Today will be screening the OVA of Shizumiya Haruhi. But we missed it cuz it was too damn early. it was 9am in the morning and please don't ask what i'm doing at that moment. After that, it was the appearance of the stars that were going to perform that night, starring SCANDAL, May'n and Angela. I missed that one too due to meeting up with my another friend to collect my tix.

But i did manage to catch up the appearance of 2 celebrity cosplayers, Kaname & Aira.

Both of them became famous in cosplaying characters due to they are both effing good looking and of course, how details their costumes and gestures and postures of the characters! You can simply put on a Narutard costume and pretend that you are cosplaying but they took it to a whole new level. In short, they are pro... Effing good-looking pro.

So before the concert start, we decided to head for some food. God knows it were all damn expensive.. in terms of RM .. LOL

Some really fanatic nihon-jin. Their lightstick is somehow battery powered i think and 10x brighter than mine. orz


First Stop! Angela!

Angela is actually consist of a singer Atsuko and guitarist/keyboardist Katsu! Their song mainly revolves around the mecha anime "Soukyuu no Fafner" .

2nd will be SCANDAL!!

Setting up the stage with full band instruments only took them around 10mins. and the other 5 to 10mins were used to adjust the sound system. It was pretty awesome to look at how fast they did things that took us longer.

Like everyone else performing, SCANDAL's rose to stardom with their song "Shoujo S" for the anime Bleach and "Shunkan Sentimental" for the anime Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood. But this time, they performed not even these 2 songs but the whole "Temptation Box" album and more. This was what makes SCANDAL very distinctive that night!

One reason why SCANDAL's live is worth while is because, every different LIVE they performed, are different from their album's CD, and other LIVE. So it will be pure excitement waiting to see how they improvise on their songs. Everyone of them are so good in their instruments, Tomomi, Mami, Haruna, even Rina the drummer is headbanging all the way.. XD
I'm getting all hyped out just by talking about the live. =D

Next up, will by May'n. I know nothing about May'n before this and after the concert, i think... i still don't quite like her. LOL, at least Angela has a guitarist or keyboardist, May'n was just pure singing.. kinda boring.. LOL, however, May'n has strong fanbase here in Asia i think. SG wise i can confirm. So i might get bashed just by making that sentence! XD

Anyone watching Macross Frontier should know who is her.. I watched.. a few episodes before.. Nope, i don't know her. XD


Lightstick, lighstick, lightstick...and omfg! is a LIGHT SABER!


After it ended, everyone's leaving the hall! can't imagined 3 hours+ passed by just like that.

So you probably will be asking yourself whether you wanna come to AFA next year? assuming that it's still going on..

I will be definitely coming again. Well, if SCANDAL is coming. If not, i might be making myself some excuses and urhm.. 'accidentally' miss it! XD
